More Fireworks, Korean BBQ-style
Well, our local waters finally got a little busier. Instead of banging a shoe for world-wide attention (Nikita Kruschev), North Korea finally dropped the other shoe. The suspense is over, but the game, unfortunately, is on.
Timing it for maximum poor-taste-value on the 4th of July weekend, North Korea finally fired their Taepodong-2 during the wee dawn hours this morning in our general direction (Bloomberg: North Korea Fires Missiles Into Sea of Japan).
BBC UK notes that there could have been as many as 6 missiles fired, and that the long-range Taepodong-2 failed 40 seconds into flight. The first mid-range Rodong was launched at 3:32 a.m. our time and landed about 373 miles from mainland Japan.
Busy and unpredictable times for our friends and families traversing the Sea of Japan and elsewhere in the 7th Fleet. We know some of you grace us with your readership every so often ~ we continue to applaud the hard work and dedication you guys and gals always provide behind the scenes.

You last entry regarding N. Korea brought it again to my attention and I had been following it. Some creapy stuff happening in our world right now. Thanks for the report.

Yeah, it's a weird world, eh?
The good and the bad, in random fashion. Fingers crossed for our friends out at sea and elsewhere. I still remain a cautious optimist that they've had their fifteen minutes of fame and now they'll just go back under a rock. *sigh*
